The Maid
A figure within an interior — occupying the threshold between domestic space and private narrative.
About This Work
The Maid introduces the human figure into the Interior Geographies series for the first time, placing a solitary presence within a composed domestic space. The work resists portraiture in favour of spatial relationship — the figure is inseparable from the room, the light, and the architecture that frames her. The result is a constructed scene that reads as both genre painting and atmospheric study.
