Chess Pieces
Strategic forms held in atmospheric suspension — the geometry of the game dissolved into constructed light and shadow.
About This Work
Chess Pieces brings the language of strategy and contemplation into the Constructed Atmospheres series. The forms of the chess board — knights, bishops, pawns — are rendered not as objects but as compositional presences within a dense atmospheric field. The work treats the game as a metaphor for constructed order, exploring how formal arrangement can generate both tension and beauty when dissolved into the series’ characteristic tonal logic.
